AAUP – SC Supports Online Fall Classes Announcements
The American Association of University Professors – South Carolina Conference applauds and strongly supports the recent decisions by leadership at Clemson University, Coastal Carolina University, Francis Marion University, and South Carolina State University to commence their fall classes online for a period of time and to assess the resumption of on-campus instruction at a date later in the semester. That these universities have adjusted their calendars in parallel with many of their local school districts demonstrates the coordination and thoughtful care necessary to protect students, faculties, and staffs whose families will now be able to better schedule their lives in the midst of this continuing pandemic.
We urge all public and private colleges and university leaders to adopt this strategy for their communities.
Respectfully,
